5th Anniversary
A dinner bash and golf tournament was organised by RSA for its valued customers and suppliers in celebration of its 5th anniversary. Said RSA Chairman, Mr Gui Boon Sui, “In the last two years, RSA has grown from strength to strength, cultivating a stronger workforce and expanding into international markets. Our achievement is largely owed to the invaluable support of our business partners.”
Echoing Mr Gui, RSA CEO Mr Yuichi Nomura said, “Tonight’s dinner is not just about marking an anniversary, it is a celebration of partnerships and friendships, for people are truly what businesses are made of.” Mr Nomura also assured that RSA is committed to engaging its business partners, and to harness its qualities to develop its business, and strengthen its business model.
An Enterprising Spirit
In 2005, RSA was the top winner for the “Enterprise 50 Startup Award”. Recipients represent Singapore's most innovative and enterprising startups, and enjoy the prestige of being among Singapore's top young promising companies.
Organised by Accenture and Business Times, and supported by International Enterprise Singapore, Spring Singapore and the Infocomm Development Authority, the award recognises young innovative entrepreneurs who have demonstrated vision, commitment and true entrepreneurial spirit in contributing to Singapore's economy.
Singapore Prestige Brand Award
Our endeavour to develop the RSA brand has not gone unnoticed. In 2008, RSA emerged a winner as a "Promising Brand" at the Singapore Prestige Brand Awards (SPBA), affirming our brand position in the market. In addition, the award will assure our customers that RSA will continue to strive for an all-rounded business excellence. Presented by the Association of Small & Medium Enterprises and Lianhe Zaobao, the major Chinese daily newspaper in Singapore, the award aims to recognise and honour local brands that have developed and managed their brands effectively through several branding initiatives.
Industry Pioneer in SAP-Enabled Inventory Management System
As one of Asia’s leading steel stockists and distributors, RSA is keenly aware that a trustworthy and well maintained inventory system is of critical importance to our customers.
When the company was established, we knew we cannot rely on traditional methods to manage our inventory. To achieve data integrity and streamline business processes, we invested in and trained our staff to use SAP® solutions. All in three months.
Within the industry, RSA is the pioneering leader in the use of SAP to manage inventory. In 2005, we were awarded the “Best mySAP ERP Project” for our remarkable achievement in strategic enterprise IT deployment.
The systems and integration brought about by SAP has ensured several benefits. With strict business flow policies and control procedures in place supported by the SAP system, we now have a stock error rate of less than 0.1 percent. Inventory management has also improved as any movement in the warehouse is now tracked in real-time.
Increased Stockholding Capacity
With the opening of our Gul yard, RSA’s stockholding facility now occupies more than 1 million square feet, and is constantly stocked with more than 6,000 line items of steel products. This capability offers a “one-stop shop concept” for steel requirements, saving our customers the time and hassle of sourcing from different stockists.
